What's crackin', peeps? Yes, yes- I know the posts are out of order. To file a complaint, see the entry for 12-17-07.
Today's entry features two outfits in blue from X3D. The long dress is the Haiku in dusk, one of many popular Haiku dresses available in a rainbow of colors. This dress is one I turn to again and again- it's of high quality, and the unique bodice shows a little of skin without being too much. The skirt is a bit hard to fit, so be prepared to spend some of time adjusting it. I've paired it with the silver strappy heels that came with the collection. The hair is the Ayla in brown from Analog Dog. Analog Dog has some great, really well done flexi hair, although some of it is rather....big.
The middle ensemble is the Navy from X3D, with the shoes that were included with the set. This 20s-ish style dress features a neck scarf, and a prim dropped waist skirt that's the perfect length. I'm wearing it, appropriately, with the Flapper hair from ETD.

What I Wore 12-29-07
What I Wore 12-30-07
Hi peeps! It's almost New Year's Eve, so here are a couple of looks you may want to consider for all the festivities.
On the left, I'm wearing the Aritha dress in green from Ivalde. It's a bit...unique, but it's flattering and elegant. It also comes in some other colors, but I like this one because I think it's funky and different. I've paired it with the Basic Long Dress gloves from Nicky Ree (tinited to match), stockings from CGBG, and Vidalia pumps in Metallic black from Armidi Gisaci. I'm wearing the bracelet and tiara from the Entwined Silver set from Dexter's Jewelry. The hair is the Crop in Mahohany from ETD.
On the right, I have on the same accessories, but I tinted the gloves a bit darker to match. I'm wearing the Little Black Dress from Pixel Dolls. It has loooow back, and a hiiiigh slit up the side, and despite the jaggies on the side seam, it's a favorite that I've gotten a lot of use out of.

What I Didn't Wear 12-28-07
Hi peeps! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday- I did. But on the other hand, home is where the heart is, and it's nice to be back.
Today's ensemble features an outfit from Ivalde, an Sl store that never fails to delight and tempt me. Arranged by decade, Ivalde has an incredible selection, including some dresses I simply love. I've always thought a well- groomed woman in a well tailored dress and sexy heels is the epitome of classic elegance, and here you can find some incredible things. On my most recent visit, I was happy to find that a line of ensembles paying homage to Marilyn Monroe had been introduced. Say what you want about Marilyn- the woman oozed elegance and style.
The Retro Bea dress in black I'm wearing is from the 50s, but don't be dismayed if the huge tiger on the skirt is a bit much for you- the store also offers some things that are more conservative. The "belt" and blouse are also included. I've accessorized it with the flapper hair from ETD (yes, I know it's the wrong time period), black leather gloves appropriated from the Cocoa Tweed Suit set from Tete a Pied, seamed stockings from CGBG, and the Vidalia Pumps in Metallic Noir from Armidi Gisaci.
Now for a quick tip about wearing skirts. There are 2 types of skirts in Sl- prim skirts that attach to your av, and "layer" skirts that are more or less painted on like your pants and shirts. Until flexi prims were introduced in May of 06 (I think), you can imagine how awful prim skirts looked, so until then layer skirts were more popular. Unfortunately, no matter how thin our av's are, layer skirts make us all appear to have cabooses the size of Texas. In order to combat this, you really need to have a modifiable shape. Under Editing Appearance, experiment with the sliders for hip, butt and saddle until you come up with a shape that looks more or less normal (but still womanly) under that skirt. It's very important to remember to save your skirt shape under a separate name that you'll remember (I call mine "skirtbutt"), and leave your original shape the same- HIT "SAVE AS", NOT SAVE!!!!
I have shapes for layer and prim skirts, as well as for "goth" skirts that are often teeny weeny. Ialso made a skirt shape with thinner calves that I use for thigh high boots. Some also make special pants shapes with slightly larger than normal derrieres. In the end, you've gotta do what works best for you- sometimes it's simply not worth driving yourself crazy over.

What I Didn't Wear For Christmas 2007
First of all, my apologies if you've seen this photo already- it's oldish. However, it's a favorite of mine, and I don't think I could come up with a better image for my Christmas entry.
Today is the 21st, and just like every year, my suitcase is open on the living room floor, and I've been up all night cleaning. Tomorrow I'll be going out of town, so this will be my last entry for a week or so.
I have to admit that I don't like many aspects of the Christmas/holiday season....people everywhere buying stuff, having to shop and clean, and go to the airport and listen to the screaming of children...My relatives and I will slump around in our pj's for a week, eating stuff and having to- the- death Scrabble and Bid Whist tournaments. We'll annoy one another, and it'll probably rain, and I'll whine about having to sleep on the floor or my mom's dog eating my socks.
But then we'll go out shopping, and we'll see a city still struggling to recover from a national disaster. We'll see people who have been forced to celebrate their holidays in trailers in their front yards for too long, we'll see the skeletons of ruined structures that used to be people's homes, we'll see graffiti and boarded up windows on buildings that used to be thriving places of business. I'll remember the folks that aren't lucky enough to have family to annoy them, that don't have money to travel in airports full of screaming babies, that don't have the means or even any reason to shop in crowded stores for holiday gifts.
The one thing I do like about the holidays, as I get older, is that it really makes me realize how blessed and loved I am.
I sincerely wish you and your friends and loved ones a happy holiday season. I hope you take a break from Secondlife, and enjoy the blessings that your real life has to offer.
Best,
Rubi
What I Didn't Wear 12-20-07
Hi Peeps! Welcome to today's entry! I wanted to make today's entry holidayish, as there are only 5 days until Christmas, but I think I've ended up with something that looks more wintery- ah well.
Ensemble 1
Today I'm pleased to talk about my all time favorite SL outfit, the outfit I'd prolly wear every other day if I didn't like shopping so much. The Let It Snow ensemble from Tres Beau, pictured on the left, features a clingy top with a flattering cut out neck line and sleek wintry pants. If you're into that sort of thing, it also comes with a furry jacket, collar, and cuffs, but I always eschew that stuff and instead wear the Iced Diamond collar and cuffs from Simply Spoiled (I wear the fancy schmancy collar over my actual collar). I think I've already expressed that I think an overabundance of bling is tacky, and this Iced set is glimmery, but somehow doesn't' seem to contain a blinding bling script. On my feet I'm wearing the Tundra boots in Snow from Le Cadre. For hair, I'm wearing the Roman Bun II and Luna- Aeris bangs from Cay's Skyshop (Roger told me this hair is his favorite of all the ones I wear). This cold weather outfit is simple, elegant, glamorous and sexy, and I'm truly surprised I haven't seen anyone else wearing it (except, of course, the people I've lent it to). As a note, Tres Beau has a stunning, largish collection of formal wear, especially wedding gowns, that is really worth checking out.
Ensemble 2
On the right, I'm wearing the Little Mary dress in Snow from Armidi. Take a look at the large size of this photo, and check out the pintucks on the bodice, and the scallops on the hem. Like all the other Armidi pieces I've seen, this dress looks real. It comes in a variety of colors, and looks nifty as whatnot if you twirl in it. The T- Strap shoes in red are from FNKY/Cake. The last time I went there, the store had been remodeled, and I couldn't find these lovely photorealistic shoes anywhere. Hopefully , the designer will bring them back soon- I haven't gotten the black ones yet...

What I Didn't Wear 12-19-07
Hi peeps! Welcome to today's entry!
I'll be out of town and unable to blog as of Saturday the 22nd, so I want to spend my last couple entries until Christmas showing you all some outfits that might are appropriate for celebrating the holidays. Today's ensemble, which I think would be excellent for a Christmas party, features the Gathered dress from Naughty Island. Short, simple and elegant, this frock can be accessorized to be utterly dignified, or a bit funky- your choice. The texture and the prims are perfectly crafted, and you'd be sure to get a lot of use out of this dress. I've paired it with a vintage-y hair from Ingenue called The Grable. Inspired by famous actress Betty Grable, this do adds class, elegance, and an edge to anything you wear it with. I'm wearing the Rainbowa in red from Callie Cline, another must see SL store, if a bit overpriced. I'll be blogging more of Callie's things in the future. Finally, I'm wearing the Vidalia pump in Noir Croc from Armidi Gisaci ( I told you they'd be my favorites).

What I Really Didn't Wear 12-17-07
Ok- I cheated. If you dunno what I mean, check out the December 18th blog.
However, I do care about the feelings of my blog readers, so I am providing a method of filing a formal complaint. In order to complain, you must fill out form QAZ97K (in your own blood, of course) and submit it in person to the Board of Trustees of the What I Didn't Wear blog. Also, you'll need that form notarized before submitting it. You can find the trustees at 123 Elm Street, Vostok Station, Antarctica. The office is open 9am- 5pm on Tuesdays that occur during a full moon, except for months when the temperature dips below 28 degrees Celsius for 2 continuous days.
The background of the picture is from SLArtist park, a nifty gallery and free photo studio area. And yes, this *is* the new face of rock.
What I Didn't Wear 12-18-07
(Oh CRAPOLA! After saving my photo in jpg and nothing else (despite Robbi telling me a million times not to do that), I realize I dated today's entry all wrong. Fine! I'll do the 17th tomorrow. And then after I do that, I'll do the 19th.! Now back to our regularly scheduled program.)
Hi peeps! Welcome to today's entry! With only a week left until Christmas, I hope that you're all still finding time to stop and enjoy the wonders of the metaverse. For those of you who aren't celebrating Christmas, I hope you enjoy your day off. :)
Today's ensemble was actually inspired by the hair I'm wearing, the Europa from FNKY/CAKE. I've loved this shop since I was a noob, and it still continues to delight me. FNKY/Cake has men's and women's hair, clothes, shoes, and other accesories. Also, for some reason, its usually filled to the rafters with some of the most attractive avatars I've ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on. Unfortunately, I find that many of the hairs there...look odd on my avatar. I fiddled with the Augusta for quite some time, wondering whether it looked cool or like a dead cat on my head. After keeping with the messy theme, and choosing my outfit, I think it's destined to be one of my favorite SL do's.
I'm wearing the the jacket (dress?) from the Couture Collection Set 7 from X3D. X3D is an excellent store with unique textures and styles created by a RL designer. If the ensemble I'm wearing is a little extreme for you, rest easy, X3D has a great selection of all types of apparel. Interesting fact- when Fergie and WIll.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas visited SL, it was Digit Darkes of X3D who made their clothing. This jacket features a pretty floral print, and is in a wrap style that reveals part of one breast. Despite what I've said about baring too much flesh, I really think the neckline on this jacket is sexy without being over the top. The elaborate skirt, which includes the belt, comes in 3 pieces and may require a bit of finagling on your part in order for it to fit correctly. I don't care too much for the leggings included in the set, so I've again used the leggings from the Funko Polo set from Canimal, tinted black. I'm also wearing the seamed stockings from CGBG; these stockings come in many layers to work with all your outfits, and have a classic seam up the back. My gloves are my favorite Harafishnet, and on my wrists I'm wearing another of my favorites, the zebra bangle from Earthtones Boutique. Finally, I'm wearing the Vidalia pump in Noir Croc from Armidi Gisaci. Armidi is a newish store on a stylish sim that looks, for a lack of a better descriptor....real. Armidi sells shoes, clothes, hair and accesories that look like they've somehow been magicked out of the glossy pages of a high fashion magazine. These shoes, sculpties with a peek a boo toe, are brilliantly crafted and have a shape that is sexy as whatnot. Armidi has quickly become one of my favorite spots, and I'm sure to be writing more about it in the future.

What I Didn't Wear 12-16-07
Hi peeps! Today I wanted to do a sort of mirror image with the picture, but it didn't quite work out...ah, well....practice makes perfect.
Today's ensembles feature clothes from Tres Blah, a teeny weeny, but very cool shop. Tres Blah's items are a bit different, at least to me, because they look painted. Granted, the majority of SL textures are "painted", but there's a tendency to try to make them look..not painted. I know I'm not making much sense- I certainly don't intend to imply Tres Blah stuff looks cartoony; actually, your best bet is to look at the jean texture on the large version of the photo- you'll see what I mean.
Now back to the outfits. On the right I'm wearing Cropped Tintable Knit Shrug, and on the left the Tunic with Braided Belt, both from Tres Blah. On my feet, I'm wearing the Strapped Chucks from Sumire and EnvYou in pink and green. They're a spiffy heeled alternative to the chucks that have been appearing all over the grid. The Juju jeans in grunge out are from Tres Blah, as well as the Juju undershirt that I'm wearing in both photos. For jewelry I'm wearing the Charmed Medallian (yes, thats how she spelled it) necklace and the Diamond Heart and Key bracelet from Miam Miam. Both the necklace and the bracelet are scripted and turn to gold, silver and copper. The necklace is a favorite of mine because it's long enough to wear with my collar, and it has lots of cute little charms like a scottie dog, a horse shoe, and a little pink heart. For hair, I've donned the Impulse in Baccara (that's a color, apparently) from Naughty Designs, the same place my skin and base shape are from. If you haven't been to Naughty Island, you're missing out on seeing some of the best male and female skins, shapes, hair and clothes on the grid. But be forewarned- their skins and shapes are extremely popular. After seeing 3 avatars that looked like me on the same day, I finally modded mine. As much as I loved my old shape (the link isn't working, but if you're interested you can see the old one on my Flickr stream under the Rez Day collection), I like my new, one of a kind one about 3 bazillion times better.
Finally, my silly expressions are from the Expresso HUD. I don't remember exactly where I got it, but I'm pretty sure it was free or near free. You should be able to find it, or products exactly like it on onrez.com, a.k.a another conspiracy to lighten my wallet.
What I Didn't Wear 12-15-07
Hi peeps! Here's Saturday's entry, better late than never. Today it's cold and snowy, so I wanted to blog something I imagine would be warm. Also, I'm aware that not all residents like fru fru fashion, so I wanted to blog something a bit ....darker. After donning this outfit, I thought it looked slightly desolate and cowboyish, so I used the desert in The Weather Channel sim as a backdrop.
The trench coat, shirt, pants and gloves form the Nomad Trencher set from Sinistyle. It has a great worn and leathery texture, and has a prim hood with drawstrings and a prim "skirt". The boots are the Old Boots in black from Shiny Things, and I made the hat myself. The hair is the crop in Maroon from ETD. The pose I'm using is from my ao (animation override), which I purchased from Reverie. Another tip for you would be fashionistas- invest in a good ao. Otherwise, you'll walk and move like Frankenstein.

What I Didn't Wear 12-14-07, Part 2
Ok- I know Titanic couldn't possibly have a sequel, but I wanted to show you all a better view of this nifty hair from Gracile. I also picked up these eyes from Pixel Dolls for 50L- whaddya think?
What I Didn't Wear 12-14-07
Hi Peeps! A whole week has passed, and I'm still blogging. Last night I spoke a bit about modifying clothing, and tonight's ensemble was another adventure in modding.
I went to Pixel Dolls (Please note that you can find, I think, the entire inventory of the store on onrez.com.), and found this FABULOUS Vivi jacket (75L!), which attaches to the chest. Unfortunately, my collar also attaches to my chest, so I attached the jacket to my pelvis. This looked awful when my av moved, so I took off my collar and attached it to my chin....well, blah, blah, blah...to sum it up, I've ended up blogging an outfit that I can't wear, because it looks odd when my av moves. So after attaching and reattaching, changing my animation override, and shrinking my butt, I've no solution but to recommend this really beautiful outfit to those who have less attachment constraints than myself.
Let me tell you what the ensemble is from left to right. In the first photo, I'm wearing the Vivi jacket in Jade. Like all Pixel Doll ensembles, it features beautiful texturing and movement. It also has a prim collar and sleeves with black lace. If you look at the pose where I'm turned to the side, you can see that the hem of it is lower in the back. I paired the jacket with leggings from Canimals- I appropriated them from the Funky Duo Set and tinted them black. What would have been really nice is if the designer had made glitch pants to go with this jacket, which I suspect many of us will wear as a dress.
After all the aforementioned issues with the skirt, I detached it and opted to wear the jacket top with the Isabeux black leather pants from LF Fashions. LF has what are possibly the best pants and jeans in SL, all of which come with pants and underpants layers, as well as prim cuffs. I'm also wearing the Satin Cami in black from 519 deSignz, a store I believe is not well known, but has some really gorgeous stuff, especially some really nice tops.
As far as accessories go, I'm wearing some lovely sculpted boots, the Florence in black from Kittie's Lair. They do come with the much contested heel tap sounds, but they can be turned and off. They come in a range of colors, and the tops can be stretched for those of us with calves that are above average. The Diamond Vine bracelets, which I had on yesterday and forgot to blog, are from Dex's jewelry and are part of a set. Dex has some nice stuff, and I suggest looking at the larger version of the photo to see the nice prim work.
Finally, I'm wearing some hair that is like nothing I ever wear. It's from Gracile, a sweet little store that I stumbled upon. It has two pearl barrettes that secure a messy updo. I love, love, love this hair- look at the large photo and check out those tendrils! Sheer artistry.
Phew. That entry was longer than "Titanic".

What I Didn't Wear 12-13-07
Hi peeps! Welcome to today's entry!
Just like I promised, today I'm featuring an outfit that's a tad more appropriate for season. The picture was taken in The October Country, a great sim that plays old radio shows and audio dramas, including the one I'm listening to as I write this- Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
Today' I "didn't" wear the Wind dress from Pixel Dolls. Pixel Dolls is another staple of SL fashion, and it's one of the oldest and best fashion houses in the metaverse. The selection at Pixel Dolls is mammoth and diverse. There, you can find everything from formal gowns like mine to flannel lumber jack shirts to leather pants that lace up the sides. Another plus of Pixel Dolls are the prices- the store is constantly having sales. The Wind dress, for example, is one of 4 dresses in The Elements series. I wore the Fire dress, an impressive burgundy, as the maid of honor at a friend's wedding. The Water dress is a soft, pretty blue, while the Earth is a deep, dignified brown. All four dresses feature long flowing skirts with beautiful flexi motion, simple lace around a dropped shoulder neckline, long tight sleeves, and neck scarves that float gently behind the wearer. I got all 4 of the dresses, with include shirt and jacket layers, glitch pants, gloves, scarf and pants for only 50L each. That's right- only 50L. I don't know how much the dresses cost right now, or even if they are currently for sale, which is my beef with Pixel Dolls.
The store moves often, has unannounced sales, and doesn't always have all its inventory out. However, what is sold there is always so impressive, and usually so cheap, that its a continual favorite amongst SL fashionistas. Most Pixel Dolls clothes are transfer and mod, which has also made me a fan.
If you've ever wanted to wear boots over your jeans, or shorten glitch pants that show beneath a prim skirt, mod is the way to go. To wear boots over your jeans, simply tighten the cuffs and/or shorten the pants while wearing them and editing your appearance. If you're nervous, rename the modded version- that way you have the a copy of the both versions of the pants.
Anyway, the 4 elements dresses are probably my favorite formal dresses, and I pity you if you can't get a hold of them. In a fashion scene that seems to promote the blingy, ruffly and intricate, these simply beautiful dresses are....simply beautiful.

What I Didn't Wear 12-12-07
Hi peeps! Welcome to today's entry!
As the days leading up to Christmas seemingly pass more and more quickly, I resist by digging in my virtual heels and refusing to blog outfits that are more wintery. I'll get around to blogging cold weather ware soon enough, but for today the theme is decidedly warm- picnic.
If you haven't visited Ivalde, you're missing one of SL's best clothing stores. Arranged by era, this store is full of beautifully textured, unique clothes perfect for any occasion. Here, you'll find everything from funky 80s casuals to demure Victorian formals to my personal favorite, classics from the 50s. Stuffed to the rafters with affordable, diverse, and sometimes daring apparel, Ivalde is simply not to be missed.
Today's outfit is the Ramona dress in blue from Ivalde, and it comes with a cute cardigan that I didn't opt to wear. The texture is incredible, especially the wrinkles on the bodice, and any person who's ever tried making clothes can tell you how difficult it is to line up striped patterns like plaid. The skirt comes to just below the knee and is perfectly poofy. I paired the dress with the Mia hair from ETD. The scarf is tintable, by the way. The outfit is finished off with the Wood Wedge platforms in white from Shiny Things. The shoes come with wedges in pine and tan- I'm wearing the pine here.
How to Edit a Scarf:
You have to have mod rights to do this. To edit individual prims that are linked together, you check off the edit linked parts on the edit box. Under more, go to the texture tab, where you'll see the option to change the color/tint. Careful though- it can suck to accidentally tint the wrong prims. You may want to make a copy of the hair first, if possible. Properly edited hair is one of the things that separates SL fashionistas from the rest of the crowd- you can always spot a noob by seeing if parts of their prim hair are stuck inside their skull-thats baaaad. Editing hair isn't easy, and it isn't fast, but for most of us, it's a necessity. Also, I can't be held responsible for any fubared hair. Feel free to IM me if you need more detail, though.
Just a tip here for all you nekos- most prim skirts attach to the stomach and can knock off your tail. Keep in mind that you have a choice about where you attach things, regardless of where they are placed when you buy them. Hop on a posing stand, attach the skirt where your tail isn't, and fiddle with it till it looks right. I adjusted mine for this by wearing the skirt on my pelvis, and my tail on my stomach. Unfortunately, it looked like my tail was stuck to the outside of my dress in the pictures, so I removed it.

What I Didn't Wear 12-11-07
Hi peeps! I'm a little pressed for time, so I'll give you the quick and dirty version of today's ensemble. Today's theme was suggested by Bia- junkyard. Ok, I know it doesn't really look junkyardish, but I did make an attempt to use some random things from my inventory. I guess its more yard sale than junkyard.
The hair is Creep in Black Brown from Curio, and the bracelets and necklace are the Industrial set in copper from Shiny Things. The shirt and gloves are both from the harajuku Linden set. The Weird Plaid socks in Acid from Shiny Things are worn under the red Suneakers from Shizuna Nagaya Japanese Community. Finally, the very nifty Camopants in black, which include prim belt, pockets, and cuffs, are from Stylebomb urban clothing, tattoos and accessories.

What I Didn't Wear 12-10-2007
It's rolled back around to Monday again, and I'm finding this blogging thing is a bit of a challenge- only a few days in, and I found myself stumped with today's theme. I called in backup (I asked Yoshi), and it was suggested that I go with a jungle theme. Finally, after wandering around Africa, a nudist colony, and a Gorean training school, I found myself in ....Mexico! This area, set up by the Mexico tourism board, has a some free, nifty outfits, and a replica of Chichen Itza. I wandered all over the sim trying to find a nice shot, and this damned bird with a following script kept getting in the way, so I just incorporated it.
Yes- I know it isn't exactly an "ensemble", but the Shai Boheme Bikini in Fern is my favorite SL swimsuit. It has a beautifull textured top that ties around the neck, and Shai has even added a clasp at the back for more realism. The bottoms, like the top, cover up all the important bits and still look sexy- in short, this suit looks like something one could really wear. It also comes with a pair of cover up pants, perfect for beach parties. What I like most about this swimsuit is the fact that it's modest, elegant, and yet sexy. Far too many Sl residents equate bare flesh with sexiness- that just isn't so! The hair is Patootie, a curly pigtail style from ETD that is flattering to many face shapes.

What I Didn't Wear 12-9-07
Hi peeps! Welcome to today's entry and I hope you're having a restful Sunday.
Today, instead of shooting in a studio, I went on location. I found this colorful gypsy wagon behind Panjen. If you hadn't noticed, many of SL's prefabs are a tad unattractive, but this one by Elgyfu Wishbringer is very charming, and gorgeously textured. It comes with lots of extras, and you can find it for 2k at Tin Teddy.
Today's ensemble is rather piratical (at least I think so) and monochromatic, so the colorful backdrop works well. I'm wearing the crop in Maroon from ETD, and the blouse from the Christina outfit from Last Call. The Bad Influence Leather Piped pants are also from Last Call, and are topped with the Old Boots in black from Shiny Things. The outfit is finished off with the Shine Black Corset from Panjen, my beloved Harafishnet gloves, zebra bangles from Earthtones Boutique and the Lethal Spikerz belt from the Kitty Box.
What I Didn't Wear 12-8-07
Happy Saturday, peeps!
Today, as I bobbed my head to the cacophony streaming out of my iPod, that song about lady lumps came on, which leads me to today's theme- silliness. I actually listened to it while I did the whole shoot.
Ensemble 1
First of all, while I do think purple should be illegal, I actually like pink- the hotter the better. My first outfit is the Sporty V2.0 from Vitamin- Ci (Call it undignified if you like, but I've seen several of you all dancing at clubs while wearing similar ensembles. Plus, the tube socks are included!) The sheep slippers are modifiable so I tinted them to match, but they were a gift so I dunno where they came from. The creator has no business listed in their profile, so I can only assume they're freebies- feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The hair is Daisy in Black-Brown from Curio, and is tinted to match my ears and tail. To complete the ignominy of the ensemble I'm wearing the Blue Diamond Belly Ring from Xcite, the people who brought you talking wieners and poonas. The belly ring says clever stuff like " Xcite! Blue Diamond Belly Ring whispers: Rubianne pinches her tummy and asks, 'Am I fat?'"( I hate talking body parts so much- nearly as much as I hate purple).
Ensemble 2
It's been said before, but freebies are really beneficial to both the givers and receivers. Giving out free stuff helps Sl content creators become recognized, and it helps the consumers...errrr...get free stuff. The reason I mention this is that nifty frock I'm wearing, the Pink Punker dress, is from The Kitty Box. I discovered the Kitty Box after finding their freebies (like this nifty Trash Can costume) while exploring a haunted house. I later checked out the store, and spent money there. It's win/win situation. The dress features a hot pink mesh skirt, a nifty bodice featuring a stylized one- eyed kitty skull and crossbones, and purty black ribbons that attach to the hips. I'm wearing it with my favorite boots( the Exalted Dollfie from Nevermore Studios), the Linden Harafishnet gloves, and a pink Lulu bangle from Artilleri. For hair, I'm wearing the Kaede bangs and Luna Aeris pigtails from Skyshop. All the hair from Skyshop changes to over 50 colors by voice command, including my favorite- red.
Now that I'm done blogging for the day, I'll be shaking my humps, my lovely lady lumps. Check it out.

What I Didn't Wear 12-7-07
Ensemble 1-
I found this most excellent dress at Icing- it's called Cocktail at Nine. I paired it with Long Basic Dress Gloves that are on clearance at Nicky Ree, which I tinted to match the waist band. The shoes are Katrina Onyx from LeCadre and are worn over Poppy basic black stockings. The hair is called Phoebe and is either 1L or free at ETD (I love ETD). You may want to check it out- the freebies contain all the colors and are a great way to decide which color is most flattering to your av before you invest in more expensive styles.
Ensemble 2-
As much as I enjoy wearing purty dresses, they aren't compatible with the poses at one of my favorite sims, The October Country( If you like old radio shows, scary stuff or autumn, you should check it out).
So I donned this second outfit, the Meccanista from Dazzle Last Call. Last Call, in my humble opinion, has the best clothes in SL. The variety, the details, the textures.....it's a manifestation of the best that SL fashion can be. Ok- back to the outfit. I'm wearing the Meccanista in ore, with Nacre sculptie sneakers from Redgrave.
The Basics: Rubi-style
RE: Photography, originally uploaded by Rubianne Ellison.
Howdy all! Welcome to my first blog entry.
On some level, this picture does represent what I didn't wear today, as it's an ad for my photography studio and I didn't wear it in my first or virtual life.....It also somewhat reflects my SL style ( If you don't know what SL is, check out Secondlife). In RL (If you don't know what that is, check out this. ), I favor Merrill walking shoes, cargo pants, and hoodies, in Sl I'm a tattooed, submissive, neko(sorta)....go figure.
In this photo, the middle pose reflects what I'm most likely to be seen wearing...something involving a lot of black, basically. The gloves (they're called harafishnet and are probably in your library) are a Linden freebie that I wear too much for for my own good. The bangles are from Artilleri, the skirt is from Bare Rose, and the basic cami is from Wrong. Those boots, which you have to see to really appreciate, are drool-worthy and can be found at Nevermore Studios. My hair is from one of my favorite hair places- ETD. The textures are wonderful, the prices are good (tons of awesome freebies, too), and the selection is inimitable. I always wear my collar (Amethyst), my wedding ring (Whittenton's), my chest tat (Beyond Tattoo) and my ears and tail from Mew. My right cat ear is modified with a couple of rings. And yes- my regular people ears show too. The better to hear you with, my dear...I never try to hide them. Finally, my skin and shape are from Naughty Island, but I modified the shape when I got tired of seeing avs that looked like mine every-friggin-where. I did various things to the body, in addition to the face, that I think make my av look better in skirts in general.
Anywho- that's Rubi style- I can't say I'm a goth or a neko or a whatever....I just wear what I like.
